Itineraries

Day 1

Visit the Source of the Nile – Welcome to Uganda

Jinja is East Africa’s adventure capital and home to the legendary Source of the Nile. Travel through lively trading centres, colourful roadside markets, lush sugar plantations, and welcoming local communities, offering a glimpse into everyday Ugandan life. Upon arrival, board a traditional boat and cruise to the exact point where the mighty River Nile begins its remarkable journey to the Mediterranean Sea. As you cruise, your guide will share captivating stories about the Nile’s history, John Hanning Speke’s famous discovery, and the river’s cultural significance to Uganda. Enjoy a delicious lunch overlooking the Nile before spending the afternoon relaxing by the riverside, exploring the railway museum, or discovering Jinja town. Later, spend the night in Jinja or return to Kampala, ready for the exciting safari adventures ahead.

Day 2

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, set off on an exciting journey north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area. Along the way, enjoy lively towns, beautiful countryside, and the simple joy of travelling through Uganda. A special highlight is your visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll trek on foot with a guide and come close to southern white rhinos in their natural habitat. After lunch, continue toward the park with music, stories, photography stops, and plenty of road-trip moments to enjoy. As the day comes to an end, arrive at your lodge, relax over a delicious dinner, and rest up for the unforgettable safari adventures ahead.

Day 3

Explore Murchison Falls National Park

Wake up early for an unforgettable morning game drive across the vast savannah of Murchison Falls National Park, where the golden sunrise brings the wilderness to life. Keep your eyes open for lions, elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, leopards, and beautiful birdlife, with every moment offering a chance for an exciting encounter or memorable photograph. After lunch, relax into a scenic boat cruise along the River Nile toward the mighty Murchison Falls, watching hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and colourful birds along the banks. Day 4

Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, bid farewell to Murchison Falls National Park and journey southwest toward Kibale National Park, Uganda’s primate capital. Along the way, watch the landscape transform from open savannah into rolling hills, fertile farmlands, and lush tea plantations. Stop in Hoima for lunch and enjoy a guided walk through its vibrant local market, where colourful stalls reveal the warmth and everyday rhythm of Ugandan life. Continue toward Fort Portal, with the majestic Rwenzori Mountains creating a beautiful backdrop. Breathe in the fresh highland air as you make your way to your lodge near Kibale Forest, where dinner, relaxation, and tomorrow’s exciting chimpanzee adventure await.

Day 5

Chimpanzee Tracking & Community Experience

Wake up early for an unforgettable primate adventure in Kibale National Park, home to one of Africa’s largest populations of chimpanzees. After a ranger briefing, step into the lush tropical rainforest and trek beneath ancient trees as you search for these fascinating creatures. Watching chimpanzees communicate, play, feed, and move through the forest canopy is a magical experience you’ll remember long after your journey. After lunch, immerse yourself in Uganda’s rich traditions through meaningful community encounters. Visit a coffee farm to discover the journey from bean to cup, enjoy the Banana Man experience, and connect with local families while learning about farming, music, and everyday life before returning to your lodge.

Day 6

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up to the refreshing forest air of Kibale before travelling to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most visited wildlife destination. Enjoy a scenic journey through the beautiful Crater Lakes region, surrounded by volcanic landscapes, rolling tea plantations, and stunning views of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains. Take time to admire the countryside, capture beautiful photographs, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of rural Uganda. Continue to the Rubona Basket Weaving Community, where skilled local women create beautiful handmade baskets using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Day 7

Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early for an exciting game drive through the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where the morning sun brings the savannah to life. Keep your eyes open for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, lions, hyenas, warthogs, giant forest hogs, and the elusive leopard, while your guide shares fascinating stories about wildlife, conservation, and the park’s unique ecosystem. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and journey south toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of the world’s most remarkable rainforests. Enjoy the scenic drive through rolling hills, terraced farms, tea plantations, and charming villages that showcase the beauty of rural Uganda. As you approach Bwindi, watch the landscape transform into misty mountain forests filled with a sense of adventure and wonder. Arrive at your lodge and unwind while taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding forest. In the afternoon, enjoy an optional community walk, meet local residents, and experience life around this ancient rainforest. Day 9

Gorilla Tracking & Batwa Cultural Experience

Today brings one of the most unforgettable experiences of your journey. After an early breakfast, head to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for a briefing before entering Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of endangered mountain gorillas. Guided by expert rangers, trek through the ancient rainforest and spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, play, and interact within their family groups. After lunch, discover the rich heritage of the Batwa community, the original forest dwellers of Bwindi, and learn about their traditions, medicinal plants, music, and survival skills passed down through generations. Continue with authentic cultural experiences including basket weaving, traditional cooking, storytelling, and dance performances before returning to your lodge for dinner and a well-earned evening of relaxation.

Day 10

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After a relaxed breakfast, leave Bwindi and journey to the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most beautiful and peaceful destinations. Surrounded by terraced hills and 29 scenic islands, the lake offers stunning views and a perfect place to unwind after your gorilla adventure. Arrive in time for lunch before checking into your lakeside lodge and enjoying the fresh mountain air. In the afternoon, experience a traditional dugout canoe ride across the calm waters, passing between the islands while your guide shares fascinating stories about the lake’s history, culture, and local legends. End the day by the shoreline, watching the golden sunset paint the hills and peaceful waters with a magical glow.

Day 11

Explore Lake Bunyonyi – Uganda's Most Beautiful Lake

Wake up to the peaceful sounds of nature at Lake Bunyonyi and enjoy breakfast overlooking the lake and its beautiful islands. Begin the day with a guided hike through the surrounding hills, taking in breathtaking viewpoints, meeting local communities, and capturing memorable photographs along the way. Later, relax on a scenic boat cruise across the calm waters to Edirisa Island, where you can explore eco-projects, nature trails, and local conservation initiatives. For those seeking a little more excitement, spend the afternoon at the Adventure Park with optional activities such as ziplining, cycling, and high ropes. End the day with a peaceful yoga and meditation session by the lake before dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 12

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, leave the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi and begin the scenic journey to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park and a unique destination for walking safaris. Travel through the stunning landscapes of southwestern Uganda, stopping in Mbarara City for lunch before continuing through the Ankole region, known for its rolling hills, cattle farms, and rich cultural heritage. Day 13

Transfer to Kampala

Along the way, explore the Ankole region with a visit to a traditional cattle farm, home to the famous Ankole long-horned cattle. Meet local cattle keepers, learn about the cultural importance of these magnificent animals, discover traditional milking practices, and capture memorable photographs. Continue the scenic drive toward the Uganda Equator, where you will enjoy lunch and experience the famous equator water experiment. Stand with one foot in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres while exploring local craft shops for unique souvenirs. Day 14

Kampala City Tour & Ndere Cultural Centre

After breakfast, discover the vibrant heart of Uganda with a guided city tour of Kampala, exploring its rich history, diverse cultures, and modern way of life. Visit the impressive Gaddafi National Mosque and enjoy spectacular views across the city’s famous seven hills from the minaret before continuing to the Kasubi Tombs, the royal burial grounds of the Buganda Kingdom. After lunch at a local restaurant, wander through bustling city streets and craft markets, discovering unique souvenirs and experiencing Kampala’s lively atmosphere. Farewell Uganda – Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed final morning depending on your flight schedule. Take time to reflect on your incredible Ugandan adventure, or visit a nearby craft shop or café for some last-minute shopping and souvenirs before your transfer to Entebbe International Airport.
